The Scariest Halloween

Eddie Montifiore always avoided Halloween. He hated the creepy side of the holiday and never could understand why people wanted to celebrate ghouls.

The best part of being at the party he was attending was that he never had to take his Joe Biden mask off. The funny thing was people kept mistaking him for Beavis from Beavis and Butthead fame.

When the Midnight chimes went off, Eddie decided it would be a good time to leave. He said goodnight to a few of his friends who were there and walked a couple of blocks to his car. It was starting to snow and as he removed his mask he was happy to be heading home. He did have a couple of chocolate bars in his pocket that was given to him at the party. The night wasn’t completely wasted, he was heading home with treats. He took a few bites out of one of the bars to give himself a little extra energy.

The snow picked up in intensity and Eddie was relieved when he turned on to his street. He saw his neighbour who was walking his dog. He stopped to say hello. ‘’You weren’t around eh Eddie?’’ The snow was covering Mr. Leon’s dog Bushka. Bushka was a good big dog. Eddie liked him a lot and opened his glove box to pull out a treat. He handed it over to his four-legged friend. ‘’Naw, I was invited to a Halloween party. Did a lot of kids come around?’’ Mr. Leon always had the same sour expression on his face, even though he was a really good guy. ‘’There were about fifteen kids, which was nice. The only thing that bothered me was I saw a man walking around by himself wearing a mask. At least I think it was a man. I noticed he was looking into houses. I didn’t like that one bit and neither did Bushka. Keep your eyes open Eddie, it’s Halloween and that’s when the strange ones show up.’’

Mr. Leon waved and he started walking again with Bushka. Eddie pulled into his driveway. He was thinking that he would be busy in the morning shoveling. As he got out of the car he noticed footprints in the snow. They led up his driveway and around the house towards the backyard.

Eddie thought something was amiss, but he wasn’t sure he wanted to find out, but as usual his curiosity got the better of him. He pulled out his cellphone and turned on the torch. He slowly followed the steps and they came to an abrupt end at his shed.
