Automating Branch Policies

A while back I wrote a blog post on cross-repo policies in Azure DevOps. It’s an excellent Azure DevOps feature that allows you to keep your branch policies consistently enforced. It does, however, comes with some drawbacks like:

So, after a little of soul searching (and by that I mean a lot of googling), I have came across a bash script that leverages az devops commands to apply different branch policies to different branches of repos of your choice. Full disclaimer, I did not write the original script, I just tweaked it a bit. And, while I was tweaking it, I completely lost the link I got it from. No idea how that happened. I guess I’m getting old. So, full credit goes to whoever wrote the original script. You, sir or madam, are awesome! Thank you.
