The Rest of the Story

Now that we’re here…..

We have been in our new home for 54 days. We have found so much enjoyment on this property! For sure it has been a huge adjustment and the learning curve has been STEEEEEEEPPPPPP. We are knee deep in fixing up the place, learning how to heat the house with wood stoves, and preparing for winter (yes, we had to learn that preparing for winter is a thing, little did we know). We have a whole new appreciation for firewood!

I wanted to share how miraculous it was that we even got to this place. As many of you may know, we are planning to start a youth camp for international students. This was something that God gave us a heart for after we came back to the states in February. We had no intention nor preparation for moving to a place like this, much less finances to purchase a property of any kind. If there was any doubt in my mind that God can do anything, I certainly was convinced during this process, that He can do the impossible! “Little is much, when God is in it.” Imagine having to “come up” with $130,000 for a down payment, in 4 months. Anyone? I’m sure some people can figure out a way, but for the rest of us, that would be a huge hurdle, and I daresay, reason enough to say a big fat NO GO. The funniest part is, we made an offer on this property without even having half of the money in the bank and not even being sure if we would have it in time. Why am I telling you this? It has nothing to do with Tom or me. This is a “huge praise” hands raised up to what God can do when we step out in faith. I hope it encourages you to take a step of faith in the direction that you know God is pulling you towards. It may not be $130,000 in 4 months. It might be more than that! Whatever it is for you, I would wager that when the Lord sees your spirit of willingness and your heart of faith, He will come through for you, no matter how impossible the situation.

PS: We love welcoming friends and family to our 40 acres of beautiful, God-given land. Please let me know if you would like to come visit us! We still need lots of work done for our events center and bunk house to prepare for next summer and our first camp. We will put you to work and it would be time well spent.

PPS: A big thank you to some generous people who have already given donations towards getting our camp up and running. We are indebted to the generosity of those people. We will be announcing our non-profit for this camp in the coming days! Thank you for the prayers and support!
