The 2020 Museum

2020 is the year of the COVID-19. It has shown the world how China doesn’t give a shit about the others. And more importantly, it has magnified whatever qualities a country’s leader have.

The obvious choice in answering the question is face mask. It’s the common gear used in preventing the spread of the coronavirus thru spit. The next one is probably the face shield — same purpose as the mask, but with better range and works as the first line of defense before the stuff ever gets to your face.

But I’d like to vote for another item. It’s probably unheard of in other parts of the world because, well, it’s stupid.

Introducing, the motorcycle barrier:

The story is some politician came up with the idea of using a barrier in between the driver and the backrider of the motorcycle. And the IATF — the agency responsible in making policies for handling the pandemic in our country — thought it was a wonderful idea. Except that it’s not.

First, they are only allowing husband and wife tandem on motorcycles. Why the fuck would they need a divider when they get to have sex at home, sans the other COVID-19 protections?

Second, aerodynamics. There were a lot of motorcycle accidents involving the barrier. It’s not surprising because most of what we have in our country is the underbone type. They can argue that it is safe given that the speed shouldn’t go past 40 kmh. But a fast bus or cargo truck on the road will blow you and your stupid barrier regardless if you’re moving or stationary.

Third, a full-faced helmet would suffice. Why? I don’t really know. I’ll just leave you this image as I end this post:
